Job Summary :
The Corporate Relations Manager is responsible for the creative development, design, implementation, and evaluation of corporate funding strategies with 75+ corporate, institutional and foundation partners to support financial and community goals of United Way.
The position works effectively with Board and fundraising volunteers in executing their fundraising assignments, including financial asks, personal introductions, and gathering strategic fundraising advice.
The role provides effective account management from prospecting, opportunity identification, cultivation, asking, closing, and stewardship.
This position works to develop relationships that result in increased financial support through a combination of grants, gifts, and sponsorships both independently and in collaboration with all Engagement Team colleagues.
Involves regular one-on-one interaction with executive-level volunteers, CEOs, and corporate social impact teams.

The pay range for this job is $82,946 - $87,312.

Essential Duties :
- Generates corporate and grant revenue including corporate gifts, grants, sponsorships, and in-kind from a portfolio of 75-100+ partners.
- Develops, implements, and executes year-round partnership strategies to increase financial support for United Way of King County.
- Drafts high quality investment proposals to secure funding commitments from corporate social impact teams.
- Creates and revises annual program for new business development - identifies and creates best practices for acquisition across the Institutional Giving team.
- Manages executive-level Board, Cabinet, and Ambassador Volunteers’ work in fundraising.
- Analyzes giving trends and identifies opportunities for increased fundraising from portfolio.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Demonstrated understanding of social and racial justice and equity, with a proven commitment to apply racial and economic justice lenses in both personal and workplace contexts.
- Lived experience and / or demonstrated professional skills working within a diverse work environment.
- Proven command of giving priorities and United Way offerings to find mutually beneficial funding matches.
- Demonstrated persuasive communication skills, both verbal and written, including public speaking skills.
- Committed team player with strong record of collaboration able to work directly with company leaders and sometimes through United Way colleagues.
- Demonstrated strategic skills and fearless about approaching new contacts and skilled in holding volunteers accountable.
- Proven entrepreneurial abilities, and willing to try new approaches and refine when needed.
- Flexible, comfortable, and credible with C-suite execs and government / community relations staff.
- Demonstrated task, time, and project management skills, demonstrated ability to set goals and objectives and use appropriate analytic techniques and tools to update projections regularly.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion and independent judgment and / or action in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Intermediate computer skills, including intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office; Enterprise and Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience a plus.
Education and / or Experience :
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in related fields such as Fundraising, Sales, Business, Marketing or Communications.
At least 5 years’ experience in fundraising or sales / marketing required. Experience in grants management preferred. Experience with face-to-face donor solicitation and fundraising techniques with an applied emphasis on customer relationship building required.
A background in working with executives or similar individuals is highly desired in working with the high-level volunteers at our partners.
