Job Title : Temp to Perm Inventory Staff Accountant
Duration : Start ASAP, ongoing w / potential for perm
Hours : Full Time
Hourly Rate : $28 / hr- $31 / hr Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JBC
Location : NYC Hybrid
Details :
Assist in month end close (i.e. prepare workpapers and schedules for monthly reconciliations)
Prepare and review monthly journal entries and maintain workbooks for various areas including but not limited to : Cost of Goods Sold, Inventory, In-Transit, Accruals, Rollfowards, and others
Assist with analytics and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations
Assist in annual financial audits, responding to audit inquiries and PBC lists
Prepare and maintain Balance Sheet Reconciliations related to Inventory, including subledgers.
Review and approve coding for inventory related invoices and credit memos
Review Sales Orders, correcting any discrepancies with Retail and Wholesale Teams
Prepare and post Inventory Adjustments approved by the Ops Team
Maintain documentation on the companies accounting policies, best practices and SOP’s
Work cross functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, AP, and various business owners
Other ad hoc assignments as required
This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week at our World Trade Center office.
Our dream candidate has
BA / BS in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of experience in a similar environment
Willingness to extend themselves and assist other people
Understanding of financial controls
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Sumifs)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a dynamic environment
Experience with inventory and cost of goods sold at a retail company
Nice to have :
Prior experience with an E-commerce and / or manufacturing entity
Experience across public / private accounting
Exposure to a SOX environment
Exposure to large ERP system (JD Edwards a plus)
Experience with standard costing
Big Four experience is a plus.
