ROLE AND PURPOSE :
Performs accounting clerk functions for the Food & Nutrition Services Department. Assists the Assistant Director in preparing monthly financial reports?
Reconciles bank statements.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certification :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in accounting or business administration preferred.
- MS Office Certification or demonstrated equivalent skill level; design spreadsheets with formulas.
Experience :
- Five years experience as an accounting clerk
- TEAMS experience preferred.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS :
- General understanding of bookkeeping and accounting with some experience working with computerized general ledger accounting systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze data and balance reports with minimum supervision.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and produce work in an allotted time schedule.
- Must be detail-oriented and perform duties with accuracy.
- Accurate data entry skills required; 10-key by touch.
- Have effective money-handling skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with Administrators, Teachers, and Parents.
- Proficient in the use of office equipment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
I. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
Assist with compiling all materials and information needed for department staff development meetings and events (e.g., school opening, end-of-year, manager meetings, etc.).
II. SCHOOL / ORGANIZATION CLIMATE

- Provides effective communication with parents / guardians and department / district personnel.

IV. ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL / FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
- Reconciles Monthly bank statements.
- Maintains Bank Reconciliation files with documentation for reference and audits.
- Reconciliation of Food Service daily receipts and research bank adjustments and debit / credit memos in TEAMS with DSMP and FileMaker.
- Perform end-of-the-month reconciliation of online PayPams payments.
- Establish and maintain files for Food Service financial records and reports.
- Post payments for catering revenue and reconcile input.
- Post payments for miscellaneous revenue and reconcile input.
- Research and work with Cafeteria Managers to reconcile daily receipts and prepare over / short reports.
- Assist the Assistant Director in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
- Conduct cafeteria cash audits.
- Record hair net sales, inventory hair nets, and place orders as needed.
V. STUDENT MANAGEMENT
- Research and adjust payments for PayPams to student accounts.
- Demonstrates support for the district's student management system and expected student behavior related to the operational aspects of food service.
VI. SCHOOL / COMMUNITY RELATIONS
- Assist parents with PayPams inquiries and the registration process.
- Complete check request for refunds on student accounts.
- Receive incoming calls and emails, answer questions, and direct calls and emails to the proper party.
VII. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

- Assist all administrative staff with projects as needed.
- Works as receptionist and / or other clerical positions as needed.
