The Health Information Specialist is responsible for ensuring and facilitating access and disclosure of health information in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner;
and in accordance to laws, system policies, and standard operating procedures. This position will be responsible for providing and ensuring high quality customer service to both internal and external customers.

- 2 years of experience in health information management or working with health information in other area. Degree in HIM / HIT may be substituted
- Release of information or disclosure management experience is preferred
- Previous experience with clinical processes and healthcare operations
- Previous experience with health language literacy with ability to locate and interpret information on forms, documents, and other sources within clinical information systems
- Previous experience with HIPAA and other federal rules, Oklahoma state laws, and requirements of regulatory agencies such as CMS and the Joint Commission as they pertain to the management of health information
- Previous experience with computer systems and telecommunications technology.
- Previous experience with medical record content and release of information documentation such as authorizations, clinical and legal documents with high attention to detail
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
