Operations Manager Specific Skills :

• Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans to meet employee needs
• Coordinate daily transportation operations, including route planning and scheduling
• Recruit, train, and supervise transportation staff, including drivers and dispatchers
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards
• Oversee maintenance and repair of the vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are in safe working condition
• Develop and manage the transportation budget, monitoring and controlling costs
• Address and resolve employee transportation concerns and complaints promptly
• Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and prepare regular performance reports
• Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Handle customer interface when applicable
• Detail and process orientation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Project management experience a plus
• Strong emotional intelligence and customer service experience
• Transportation industry experience
• Strong computer skills / technological aptitude

Operations Manager Responsibilities :

• Management of general yard operations
• Responsible for recruitment, management and retention of driver and dispatch teams
• Work closely with MRTW and customer management teams to ensure 100% compliance with customer requirements
• Participate in customer QBR’s
• Implement customer and driver retention programs
• Work closely with MRTW and customer management teams to ensure 100% compliance with customer SLA requirements
• Work attentively to ensure 100% compliance with DOT and NTA requirements
• Assist with driver and safety bonus programs
• Assist with driver onboarding, scheduling and staffing
• Other duties as required

Required Experience :

• Previous Management experience 5yrs+ - preferable in the transportation industry
• Familiar with DOT regulations
• FMSCA regulations and safety practices
• Exceptional communication, organization and listening skills
• Ability to multitask
• Fast learner and self starter
• Computer proficient
• Strong organizational ability
• Ability to remain professional under pressure
