Description

Responsibilities

  • Solicit bid proposals, create purchase orders from non-stock purchase requisitions, order materials, supplies, or equipment, and ensure timely delivery of the proper quantity of materials to support production.
  • Maintain accurate delivery dates in the ERP system, evaluate purchase messages, and communicate changes in a timely fashion.
  • Update and maintain material data (by vendor) to allow for the best MRP planning possible.
  • Review and maintain current supplier list including payment terms / key contacts and lead times.
  • Analyze existing sources of supply and identify opportunities for improved pricing or delivery.
  • Partner with plant operations team to ensure that materials are available to support production needs.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with internal customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge & Skills

  • General understanding of Supply Chain Management best practices and the regulatory environmentand the impact that decisions make on internal and external customers.
  • Able to negotiate prices, terms, etc.
  • Able to acquire detailed knowledge of specific customers, suppliers, products, product lines and shipping requirements and maintain and update that information in the ERP system.
  • Able to work collaboratively with other employees and departments to support time sensitive customer requirements.
  • Able to recognize, analyze, and offer solutions to problems or involve the necessary people to ensure the problem is properly resolved.
  • Able to adjust priorities on short notice in order to meet time sensitive requirements.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is preferred.

Experience

  • 3 or more years of experience in a Supply Chain or Purchasing role
  • Must have previous experience utilizing an ERP system in a Supply Chain or Purchasing role.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration (Supply Chain / Purchasing concentration) preferred

  • Physical- This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Travel- 0% to 5% - Minimal
