A Manufacturing CFA New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician with onsemi in Nampa, Idaho works on a shift team to support the NPI and R&D teams in the development of color filter array (CFA) and Micro Lens processes for new image sensor products.
The primary responsibility of the NPI Technician is to perform task processing and support the NPI and R&D part owners to develop processes for those new parts.
The NPI Technician will utilize equipment in the photolithography, wet process, metrology, and real-time defect analysis (RDA) area in CFA and work with the manufacturing team on engineering issues that impact progress of those new parts.
Shift : F-shift (6p 6a, Wed Fri and every other Saturday)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Running engineering experiments that have been documented in a task, gathering required metrology data, reviewing data, setting up lots to run in CAMSTAR ( including, splitting / merging lots, future holds, , and adding documentation to task for updates.
- Supporting the development and testing of new tooling and processing options.
- Working with the R&D team on tool, process, and materials development.
- Maintain training certifications in the operation of 200mm and 300mm production equipment required for processing wafers used for NPI and R&D part type development and experiments.
- Follow direction from engineering to run experiments, special requests, inspections, metrology tasks, and NPI-owned part type processing in the CFA Fab.
- Document updates to tasks in a clear and concise manner to inform the team of progress on tasks and to help reduce task errors.
- Keep the Lead Engineer advised on tasks that have issues and are impacting the expected completion schedule.
- Communicate with the NPI and R&D teams on issues seen with parts and materials, including calls to part owners at home on nights and weekends, if required.
- Work with the fab manufacturing engineering process and equipment team on tasks that require metrology tool recipe creation data collection when needed.
- Keep lead engineer / production supervisor advised of area issues and progress
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety policies and guidelines
Qualifications :
- Must have a solid understanding of how the color filter array (CFA) and microlens processes are performed and a general understanding of part type flows through the fab.
- Have an understanding of statistical process control (SPC) to monitor area process control charts and react to out of control / specification (OOC / OOS) conditions with the engineering team
- Acquire the ability to use software programs to review data to evaluate process results
- Willingness to work any shift including weekends, nights, and holidays. This position reports to the CFA Lead Engineer and will rotate with the shift team at the 4-month rotation intervals this includes overtime as needed
- Ensure a thorough written and verbal passdown of shift activities, tool issues, process issues, and task status
