Job Title : Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location : St. Louis, Missouri

Reports To : Credit Manager

Direct Reports & Indirect Reports : None

Pay Status : Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays an integral role in the success of Crescent Parts & Equipment by providing professional and expert customer service to our internal and external clients.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will have the responsibility of posting the prior day’s customer receipts in a timely and accurate fashion.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will also be responsible for managing and adjusting all tax exemptions on customer accounts.

In addition, teamwork, flexibility and willingness to learn new things will be an essential part of the Accounts Receivable Specialist’s daily routine.

Essential Functions

  • Post prior day’s customer cash receipts within the Company’s ERP
  • Reconcile bank and credit card activity accurately in a timely manner
  • Responsible for daily accounts receivable activity
  • Reconcile customer deductions by obtaining sales tax exempt forms and working with internal counter staff for product return credits and customer discrepancies

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Input and apply daily lock box deposits
  • Input and apply daily deposits made via customer payment portal
  • Input and apply daily credit card receipts
  • Process exception items, including voids, return checks and sales tax exemptions
  • Update monthly reporting for management team
  • Input corrections to AR or GL modules within the ERP

Experience & Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize, multiple tasks, and work with multiple departments and teams to meet appropriate deadlines
  • Experience with TermSync software, or similar customer payment portals
  • Notary license a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs : Outlook, MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Microsoft Excel experience required
  • Experience working within an ERP system (Infor Cloudsuite Distribution experience a plus)
  • Excellent oral and written skills, and ability to follow directions
  • Capable of dealing quickly to changing priorities and demands
  • Ability to work as a team or on your own, when applicable
  • Ability to interact successfully with all levels of management, customers, and vendors
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills
  • Ability to follow-up on pending issues
  • Good inter-personal skills
  • Drive to succeed and grow within the organization

Educational Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business preferred
