How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region :
The Manager, Warranty, Contracts & Analysis position plans, organizes, and manages the implementation of the warranty program, data analysis, and contract provisions including the workload of the information collection, publications and requests, and maintenance division contracts.
The Bus Maintenance Division is responsible for providing safe, clean and dependable buses to meet peak system requirements of approximately 900 buses plus the maintenance of all support vehicles (Pool cars, Supervisors cars / vans, tow trucks, Facilities Dept.
trucks, Rail support vehicles, etc.) and equipment (powered sweepers, scrubbers, forklifts, small engines, etc.).

What you would do in this job
- Supervise a team of information technology professionals.
- Participate in department management team activities including budget development.
- Manage the Warranty and Maintenance Data work units.
- Manage and evaluate employee's performance and development within the work units.
- Coordinate work unit activities with other division work units.
- Oversee maintenance contracts terms and conditions.
- Continually improve the overall management and performance of the warranty and data collection work units.
- Work with vendors to resolve ongoing issues.
- Assist in the development of contract specifications and procurement process.
- Assist in the migration of an existing ERP system into a modern asset management system.
- Manage bus onboarding into fleet management systems.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Any of the following combinations of related work experience (in contract management, management information systems, warranty, or similar), AND completed education (in business administration, management, management of information systems, or closely related field) :
- High School Diploma / (GED) with ten (10) years of experience, including three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in business administration, maintenance or related field.
- Associate degree AND eight (8) years of experience, including three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in business administration, maintenance or related field.
- Bachelor's degree AND six (6) years of experience, including three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in business administration, maintenance or related field.
Metropolitan Council Employees Only : Successful completion of any one of the following four Metropolitan Council Leadership / Supervisory training programs will substitute for lead / supervisory experience.
You must attach your certificate(s) as proof of completion of the program to your application. Only completion of one of the four programs listed below will substitute credit (6 months or 1 year) for lead / supervisory experience.
Metro Transit Leadership Academy 1 year
Project Management Development Program (12-month session) 1 year
Project Management Development Program (6-month session) 6 months
Four Learning Institute Certificates - You must obtain all four certificates listed below to receive credit for 6 months supervisory experience.
- Leading Self-Personal Effectiveness Certificate
- Leading Self-Communication Certificate
- Leading Self-Business Skills Certificate
- Leading Others-Preparing for Supervisor Certificate
Licensure Requirement :
Valid driver's license and good driving record.

What your work environment would be :
Work is frequently performed in an office setting. However, the position may require occasional outdoor work with exposure to weather conditions.
Work may require local travel to various facilities . Position may result in exposure to moving parts or equipment, fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot / cold non-weather conditions.
