Logistics Coordinator
We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Logistics Coordinator to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of goods, services, and information within the supply chain.
This role involves coordinating transportation, inventory control, and warehousing activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to our customers.
This is a Contract assignment located by Schaumburg IL.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and schedule the transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Select and negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to secure the best rates and services.
- Track shipments, monitor delivery performance, and resolve any transportation issues or delays.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods in the warehouse.
- Implement and maintain efficient warehouse layout and organization to maximize space and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of materials.
- Manage the order fulfillment process, from order entry to delivery.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders.
- Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to address any order-related issues.
- Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding logistics inquiries and issues.
- Provide timely updates and information on shipment status.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues related to logistics and delivery.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyze logistics data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics coordination or a similar role.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools (, transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, MS Office).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and customs procedures is a plus. Job Details :
