Maintenance Mechanical Engineer

This role will be to provide technical maintenance support for rotating and fixed equipment at the Plaquemine site. You will be a technical focal point for planning and execution of work and will also be the first call for emergencies, working with operations to prioritize daily maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for planners and craft personnel.
• Own maintenance procedure program.
• Provide pipe and paint specs as needed.
• Create welding guidelines for planned and emergency work.
• Provide technical expertise in the design, selection, installation, and startup of critical rotating equipment.
• Define scope of work for repairs.
• Conduct root cause analysis.
• Manage large equipment repairs onsite.
• Manage large equipment repairs offsite at repair shops.
• Own the work queue of repairable equipment for MRO.
• SAP super user.
• Work with Maintenance Manager to control maintenance budget.
• Act as maintenance focal point for projects.
• Work with the team to drive EH&S performance.
• Collaborate with operations and scheduling team to determine work priority.

Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or 10+ years of maintenance experience with rotating and fixed equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot rotating and fixed equipment.
• Knowledge of root cause investigation processes.
• Knowledge of pipe specs, P&IDs, and paint specs.
• Prior experience with SAP / Maintenance Management Software preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to travel on occasion (minimal).
• Candidates will need to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
