OVERVIEW :
The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates all human resource processes. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
Assists with processing of terminations
Assists with the preparation of the performance review process
Assists with recruitment and interview process
Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Human Resources Manager
Makes copies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions
Files documents into appropriate employee files
Prepares new-employee files
Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations
Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary
Communicates benefits information to employees
Interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level, professional and technical job openings
Conducts new hire orientations
Maintains good working relationship with union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions
Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner
Maintains human resource information system
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files
Maintains and processes all unemployment notices and potential charges
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs
QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
1 year of experience in Human Resources
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
