Position Purpose

This Research Director is responsible for delivering Info-Tech’s IT Spend and Staff Benchmarks to clients, primarily in the domain of IT Financial Management.

The successful candidate will provide experience-based IT benchmarking insight and guidance, helping IT leaders drive measurable results in their organizations.

The incumbent will maintain an active pulse on the needs of clients, who we refer to as Members, located globally. They will also need to stay current on industry developments to enable the delivery of exceptional service via calls and benchmark engagements in collaboration with others across our Research Division and organization.

What you will do, includes, but not limited to :

Lead ITFM Benchmarking engagements

  • Lead and deliver ITFM’s flagship offering IT Spend and Staffing Benchmarking engagements along with analyst support.
  • Be a guide for C-suite clients in the IT Financial Management space, sharing insights on how to manage their costs better as well as learnings from their industry on how to improve IT’s cost to value through benchmarking
  • Through your expertise, improve the benchmarking service with new ways of representing data and finding opportunities to enhance the insights delivered
  • Keep a pulse on what’s happening in the industry around your areas of expertise including upcoming trends and best practices, in part, to assist in your contribution of ideas related to the benchmarking service

Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Support

  • Contributing to Call Advisory, Workshops, and Global Services teams by advising peers on IT Spend and Staff Benchmark research and analysis as needed.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and feedback to other departments across the Research Division and to partnering Divisions outside of Research, like Sales, Public Relations & Marketing, etc., teams as needed.
  • Design and build of high-quality keynote / other presentations, and successful delivery of presentations as needed.

To be successful, you will need :

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required (business or technology preferred). An MA, MBA, or MSc beneficial.
  • Professional certifications in Finance and Accounting, Project Management, Business Analysis, or other related disciplines considered valuable.
  • Practical experience (5-10+ years) working in one or more of the following domains necessary :
  • IT Cost Benchmarking
  • IT Financial Management
  • Project Management
  • Experience in project-driven environments
  • While the role is not a people management role, experience in leading teams is highly desired given the nature of advisory services offered.
  • Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing engagements important.
  • History of gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. Strong working relationships with C-suite considered beneficial.
