Field Technician 1 - Construction Materials Testing

Entry Level Field Technician I Intertek PSI, is searching for an Entry Level Field Technician I to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Canton (Boston), Massachusetts office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A / E / C) industry! The Field Technician is responsible for performing a variety of construction materials testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and / or from detailed controlled procedures.

The testing and documentation is generally performed on active construction sites. What you'll do :

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example : Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results What it takes to be successful in this role :
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights Preferred Requirements & Qualifications :
• High School Diploma or equivalent
