- provides direct input and participates in meetings and / or conferences with senior management, Division, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements for in-house maintenance and major construction project support (typically, 6 months or longer in advance of the beginning of actual work operations);
and responsible for the effective and economical use of allocated resources, both human and material costs, redirecting resources (materials and staff) under their supervision to accommodate for emergencies.

Many work sites are hot, dirty, dusty, greasy, poorly lit, cramped and with unpleasant odors. May be subject to possible dangerous working conditions including exposure to hazards normally encountered in the Medical Center, trade related work, various types of infections, electrical shock and / or electrical burns, cuts, bruises, and strains.
