Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will be part of the Hardware Engineering team focused on next generation robotic system design, as well as supporting the existing fleet of robotic & automation technology.

The TPM will manage the full project lifecycle of innovative programs aimed at improving the efficiency and lowering the cost of Amazon’s next-generation Fulfillment Centers, Sortation Centers, Air Hubs, and Air Gateways.

This position is responsible for the planning and execution of NPI & Sustaining programs while serving as liaison between Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Deployment Engineering, Solutions, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Customer Support, and the Program Office.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of Hardware Product Development programs and projects, working closely with mechanical, electrical and embedded systems teams.
  • Interact with Deployment Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Support Services, and other key stakeholders to define and deliver to project goals to improve performance, reduce cost, and reduce installation cycle time.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to support solution development and integration. An ideal candidate has experience with hardware / software integration.
  • Triage, prioritize, and execute against incoming requests from the field for Hardware engineering support.
  • Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure the appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results.
  • Lead the partnership between hardware engineering, product management and systems engineering to develop and decompose comprehensive functional requirements.
  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at the program level.
  • Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • Develop and drive hardware project schedules.
  • Drive programs across all HW disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Safety, Regulatory, HW Test Engineering.
  • Partner with groups external to Hardware Engineering to successfully deliver on project goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining KPI's / SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
