Electrical Estimator needed for well established NJ electrical contractor.
Salary up to $120k including 70% medical / dental contribution
- Minimum 3 year experience in estimating commercial electrical construction projects
- Preferred college degree in electrical engineering or construction management
- Prepare quantity take-offs of electrical and low voltage systems
- Prepare detailed estimates including assigning material and labor values to take-offs
- Acquire vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and systems
- Partner with other Estimators to ensure a complete scope of work is defined and pricing review
- Evaluate and assist with subcontractor and vendor scope and pricing review
- Attend scope review meetings
- Prepare scope letters and proposals
- Participate in job-walks, project kick-off and turn-over meetings
- Prepare and manage communications internally and with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally be required to commute to field locations
- Knowledge of electrical power, lighting and low voltage electrical systems
- Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of electrical design documents in various stages of design completion
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam and Accubid estimating software is preferred
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment and independently
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
