Director, People Operations
About the Role :
At Unit21, we are focused on our mission of stopping bad actors to provide justice and safety to the world. Your work has an impact on reducing heinous crimes like sex trafficking, child pornography, and terrorism financing.
This role reports to the founder / CEO of Unit21.
This is a role to ensure excellence in all operational aspects of the People function by creating, managing, and driving people operations, analytics, and systems.
What you will be doing :
- Ensure HR policy and compliance program expectations are set and met.
- Manage payroll through our payroll systems like Gusto and Payworks.
- Ensure an exceptional employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle : administer appropriate benefit and pay practices, process transactions such as employee onboarding and offboarding, manage processes like performance reviews and quarterly pulse surveys, handle conflicts.
- Implement manager training programs to ensure managers are able to get the most out of their teams.
- Create events that enable the company to bond together.
- Work with the executive team and put in the right frameworks to get the most out of their relevant teams.
What we’re looking for :
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a People function that includes a strong component of operations, preferably in the technology space.
- Experience supporting payroll management.
- Proven track record of scaling People systems to support the capability of the organization in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and EQ that allows you to be a trusted resource for employees and leadership in problem resolution.
- Strong presentation skills and communications with proven ability to positively influence outcomes.
- Project management experience rolling out organization-wide processes and systems.
- Strong analytic skills and data-driven mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Studies in HR or related fields are especially helpful.

The standard base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000 Annually. This base pay range does not include variable compensation including potential commissions, bonuses, or other financial or equity incentives.
