Manager, Global Strategic Sourcing

Job Description
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
Position him / herself as a trusted business advisor in which he / she influences budget owner executives to reflect project and operational savings in their business unit's budgets
Analyze historical spend and extract potential sourcing opportunities for the busines s(es)
Research key categories of software and hardware spend across the marketplace to find competitive, leading solution providers
Develop working relationships with key stakeholders to proactively define their requirements, develop the strategic sourcing strategy, define, prepare, and negotiate complex software acquisition agreements for AXIS business and various IT categories (hosting, SaaS, On- P remise , A / I) , take ownership through the contracting process and determine requirements for ongoing vendor management
Oversees competitive RFXs and manages the development of negotiation strategy; manages or conducts the competitive negotiation process as needed
Proactively manage all major software renewals and purchases, aligned with key business strategies to reduce overall software BAU spend .
Support the e-procurement, contract management, and vendor enablement process by ensuring new vendors have been properly on-boarded including creating and maintaining vendor records
Monitor vendor risk and performance using AXIS's Vendor Performance and Risk Assessment for new acquisitions and material ongoing vendor relationships
Monitor category reporting to identify post-facto purchases and partner with Business Units to educate and raise awareness of appropriate process for purchasing needed goods / services
Proven experience and ability to implement and manage vendor performance programs
Drive innovation into the way AXIS purchases key software solutions , including Agile development, intellectual property-driven project accelerators, offshore development models, and outcome-based fee structures
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience :
Four-year college degree in a business-related discipline; MBA preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years in progressively challenging roles in software and hardware sourcing, negotiations, category management and vendor management
Broad domain expertise across a variety of categories of goods and services, with deep, hands-on experience sourcing and managing vendors in at least three of the following categories : Business applications (Cat modeling / underwriting, Claims, data analytics tools)
Technology savvy with e xperience in using e-sourcing , vendor management and enterprise procurement tools to execute and manage sourcing projects ( e.
g., Zycus, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass)
Experience negotiating and structuring contractual agreements for software purchasing including statements of work, especially multi-country agreements among different legal entities
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to analyze and present category-related data to executives
A self-starter, e nthusiastic, proactive contributor who takes on tasks and brings them to prompt completion
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adjust priorities as necessary
Proven strong administrative and customer relationship management skills; respect for confidentiality
Strong organizational skills including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and bring them to resolution
A strong work ethic with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail; work with minimal supervision
For this position, we expect to offer a base salary in the range of NYC - Total Comp. $110k - $135K. The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors, including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
