Summary :

The Life of Loan Manager is responsible for managing functions and technical processes for the following teams within Lending Services : Prep Scan Index;

document filing and retrieval; Post Booking Quality Control and Exceptions Processing; Collateral Lien Release and Lien Perfection.

This person is responsible for planning, directing, overseeing, and leading all Life of Loan teams, including their respective leaders.

The Life of Loan Manager works to provide support to all lines of business involved in originating loan products. The Life of Loan Manager accomplishes department objectives by leading staff, planning, and evaluating department activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • 30% Leadership :
  • Actively supports bank policy and Lending Services management decisions; promotes good will among fellow employees, lenders, and customers;
  • presents a professional image; maintains good communication by relaying updated information and issues involving the department / company;

manages relationships with areas that interface with the department; models exemplary customer service behaviors; identifies and evaluates trends and options, chooses course of action, defines objectives, evaluates outcomes.

  • 30% Quality of Work :
  • Responds both written and verbally to needs and requests from our stakeholders (customers, lenders and department staff) in a timely and professional manner.

Utilizes outside resources to obtain information and cooperation necessary to accomplish objectives; adds value and completes assignments and projects within the established timeframes.

Accountable for performance of team and self. Works with managers, coworkers, and customers to continuously improve processes;

manages workflow and production for functional area and shares information that could impede or strengthen the department's performance.

Develops and implements new processes and standards for performance.

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training employees. Maintains a safe, secure, and legal working environment.
  • Actively develops knowledge, skills and abilities of employees within his / her supervision to improve their performance and morale;
  • trains and educates fellow employees, lenders and customers on processes under his / her supervision. Communicates job expectations;

participates in the development and implementation of processes that help to attract and retain highly motivated, able personnel

Areas of responsibility include :

Develop, implement, and maintain best practices in all Life of Loan related operations workflow, procedures, and processes that comply with internal compliance requirements and state and federal laws and regulations;

maintain above average performance in areas of accuracy and compliance

  • Successfully interact with team members and business partners to improve accuracies and efficiencies; chair periodic meetings to discuss improvements and solutions to resolve issues
  • Interact with auditors, reviewers, and compliance examiners; follow up and correct items addressed and ensure necessary changes and / or recommendations have been documented and implemented as directed
  • Coordinate and represent Life of Loan team on various project teams; communicate changes and progress as appropriate; develop effective change management implementation plans;

monitor transitions and results

  • Work within approved department budget; conserve organizational resources
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, develop, and evaluate team managers; build and sustain a diverse work environment that supports psychological safety and candid communication;

provide regular performance feedback in order to develop staff skills and encourage growth

  • Review and approve employee timecards; ensure appropriate team staffing
  • Host regular team meetings as well as one on one conversations with Life of Loan Team managers
  • Maintain general knowledge of consumer, commercial, and syndicated lending procedures and products; ensure teams' continued compliance with policy and procedures
  • Guide and supervise Life of Loan Team and direct workflow for Life of Loan teams to ensure productivity meets the needs of internal and external customers and stated service level agreements;

manage daily operations of the department in an effective and efficient manner

  • Identify and solve problems in a timely manner; develop alternative solutions
  • Ensure all Life of Loan team members complete compliance training as assigned
  • Approve newly written or modified Life of Loan procedures
  • Approve all Life of Loan related system implementation and upgrades as appropriate
  • Report and track system issues and outages as appropriate
  • Support other leaders in Lending Services as needed
  • Represent the Life of Loan Team in various meetings and cross-functional discussions
  • Subject matter expert and / or business owner for the LDTS and ARX systems and related processes
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned

Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

At least 10 years of experience in lending operations or related field and 5 or more years of leadership experience required.

College degree preferred but not required. This position requires the flexibility to work before and after normal business hours as necessary to meet deadlines and needs of the organization and its customers.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with or without the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and / or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
