Job Description

The Safety Coordiantor - Industrial Manufacturing will be responsible for the following :

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to comply with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, refresher courses, and specialized training sessions.
  • Maintain and update safety records, including training logs, incident reports, and safety inspection checklists.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters and communicate safety information to all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and storage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the safety program.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Safety Coordinator - Industrial Manufacturing will have the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in a safety coordinator or similar role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
