KBP Brands is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Analyst specializing in Escheatment and Compliance to join our dynamic team at KBP Brands.
In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with unclaimed property regulations and executing processes related to payroll escheatment.
You will collaborate closely with various teams across our organization to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and legal compliance within the payroll function.
What You’ll Do :
Using data-driven analytics to improve and develop processes within the escheatment requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy are met or increased.
Research and analyze trends and issues to drive accuracy.
Oversee state legislation and regulatory compliance rulings impacting payroll escheatment or payroll-related compliance changes
Use strong analytical and research skills with the ability to work independently, conduct research, formulate conclusions, and present recommendations regarding sophisticated business issues.
Drive standard methodologies and standardization, increase automation, develop reconciliation procedures, identify and implement needed improvements of payroll escheatment and payroll department processes, methods, and audits to improve operational effectiveness, increase accuracy, or ensure legal compliance
Develop strong working relationships and proactively communicate to the team, leadership, collaborators, partners, and operators to resolve any issues that might prevent timely processing or result in integrity issues
Duties include but are not limited to communicating and corresponding to holders and claimants regarding questions or guidance requested, mostly in documentation needed for claims, unclaimed property laws, and regulations.
Prepare and file all necessary regulatory reports and amendments on a timely and accurate basis, including but not limited to escheat / unclaimed property for payroll uncashed checks
Administers ongoing uncleared payroll checks after a stale date of 90 days by proactive communication to resolve and clear funds to reduce required reporting metrics when possible
Provides advanced support reconciling biweekly and weekly payroll audit reports for a current employee base of 20,000+, including but not limited to hours, wages, tax deductions, benefit deductions, retirement compensation, and employer expenses before processing and establishes benchmarking period-over-period to identify errors or patterns for future projections.
What We’re Looking for :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical expertise and experience related to annual compliance reporting in unclaimed property or other tax disciplines (i.
e., sales / use taxes, payroll taxes) desired.
Multi-state payroll processing experience.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve issues with urgency.
Knowledge of Windows-based computer operating systems; Excel experience is a priority.
Ability to organize a high volume of requests across multiple platforms (phone, email, and support tickets), schedule, and prioritize tasks as needed.
