The Opportunity
Abt seeks a Senior Analyst to support our portfolio of domestic health care work within Abt’s Research, Monitoring, & Evaluation Capability team.
As a member of the Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Capability team, you will apply qualitative and mixed methods research and evaluation approaches at the highest levels of quality and rigor to generate evidence-based insights.

Federal government agencies, such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) call on us to help launch and evaluate their key programs.
Our work includes such knowledge building activities as :
- Evaluating healthcare, public health, and behavioral health programs, policies, and models,
- Understanding, evaluating, and assessing payment programs and models; Infectious and chronic disease modeling,
- Analyzing access to and quality and outcomes of healthcare services, and
- Systematic evidence reviews
Core Responsibilities
- Contribute methodological expertise across a range of qualitative and mixed methods research approaches.
- Contribute subject-matter expertise in the following health care-related areas : maternal and child health in underserved populations, clinical workflow, health care delivery, payment programs, and prior experience working with CMS programs.
- Execute or manage moderately to highly complex research and evaluation tasks for federal clients. Example tasks might include developing research designs and analysis plans;
- developing data collection instruments; collecting and analyzing qualitative data; conducting and interpreting the analysis of primary or secondary data;
reporting research findings and other technical writing; assisting with project management.
Collaborate with or manage project teams by communicating respectfully, meeting deadlines, and exercising initiative to resolve complex challenges.
Work independently, completing complex tasks under indirect supervision where there is latitude for independent action and decision-making.
- Support business development activities including proposal writing and development.
- Contribute to developing and disseminating project deliverables and other products to sharing project findings through client briefings, presentations, blog posts, podcasts, videos and / or social media.
- Maintain excellent business development relationships with clients and external partners.
What We Value
- Demonstrated technical expertise related to qualitative and mixed methods research methods in healthcare, specifically in the topic areas of maternal and child health, clinical workflow, health care delivery, payment programs, or CMS programs
- Experience with qualitative and mixed methods research design, analysis, data collection, and reporting.
- Aptitude and interest in mentoring less-experienced staff and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in research approaches and interactions with colleagues.
- Demonstrated experience translating research and making it accessible to practice, policy, and / or government audiences.
- A well-rounded interpersonal skill set with the capacity to build relationships with clients, funders, and workforce development leaders, and to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with business development and proposal or grant writingconsidered a plus.
- Strong interest in public policy research.
- Effective communication in English, orally and in writing.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $70,000 to $110,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.
Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
