Position Overview
Calian is seeking a Warehouse Lead to assist our client with the facilitation of their project. The Warehouse Lead is a crucial role in the implementation of the Unique Identification (UID) program, ensuring the accurate application of UID Labels to serialized material.
The Warehouse lead conducts site surveys, strictly adheres to UID marking specifications, captures digital photographs of applied UID marks, and verifies items against organizational records.
Their meticulous attention to detail enhances accountability and life cycle management, supporting the implementation of Automatic Identification Technology (AIT) and contributing significantly to streamlined defense logistics.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee Contractor resources during the execution of UID Labelling activities in the defense sector
- Conduct site surveys to inform resource estimates for future UID Labelling task authorizations
- Apply UID Labels to equipment at defense sector facilities across Canada following the approved UID Item Marking Plan and associated Task Authorizations
- Apply package-level UII Package Labels to applicable packaging, including unit containers, intermediate containers, and exterior containers
- Adhere to approved UID Technical Marking Specifications for all UID Labels applied
- Capture a digital photograph of each UID mark after application, meeting specified requirements :
- Include both the UID mark and existing Human Readable Information in a single picture
- Capture two digital photographs if necessary (one of the HRI and one of the UID Label)
- Ensure sufficient quality for machine-readable markings
- Maintain photographs with UII and capture date in filenames for a minimum of two years to support Quality Assurance and auditability
- Provide photographs to the defense sector upon request and contract termination
- Physically verify each item against the defense sector's EMR records and the item list in the Task Authorization, using criteria such as the manufacturer serial number, part number, nCAGE, and other identifying data as provided;
- Document and report any discrepancies and exceptions in materiel holdings compared to DRMIS EMR records, including cases of equipment not found, equipment found but in unexpected locations, inconsistent item types, non-matching OEM pedigree markings, and equipment requiring serial management without an existing EMR record in DRMIS.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid Government of Canada Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Secret Clearance.
- Must have successfully completed a high school diploma.
- Must have a minimum of 12 months of experience managing and supervising employees.
- Must have a minimum of 12 months of experience performing at least three of the following activities :
- o Inventory management in a warehouse environment;
- o Stocktaking and inventory counts of material;
- o Performing goods picks and put-aways in a warehouse environment;
- o Packaging and repackaging of goods;
- o Application of labels and markings to goods and packages;
o Perform general visual inspection of goods and equipment for any damage, shelf life, proper documentation; or
o Utilizing mobile computing devices to manage warehouse activities.
