Project Manager, IT PMO (Infrastructure)

Position Details :

Location : San Ramon, CA (Hybrid / Onsite 2 days a week)

Looking for a Senior Project Manager with focus on Infrastructure with Mergers & Acquisition experience . You must understand network, active directly, access management tools, familiarly of working in that space and rolling out laptops

We are currently looking for a strategic, seasoned individual to join our Architecture & Portfolio Management Team. This team provides program and project management excellence to prioritize, plan, and execute across SaaS, public cloud, and IT infrastructure projects, including 3rd party applications platforms used to enable client’s enterprise.

The right candidate is a technology and business quick study with a strategic mindset, able to creatively drive complex technical programs.

This role is focused on client’s enterprise business systems and infrastructure.

The PMO Manager will provide leadership, organization and coordination to support the PMO’s key activities encompassing strategic program planning, governance, process and documentation development, standardization, and continuous project delivery improvement.

The PMO Manager of Program Management will be the conduit between IT, business and Leadership to establish standards and ensure adherence as a means to drive repeatable and predictable project success.

They will oversee the delivery models, methods and procedures and evolve them as needed in tight coordination with the IT Business Engagement, Enterprise Architecture and Delivery teams.

Responsibilities of the PMO Manager of Program Management include :

Strategy & Innovation

  • Enable strategic change in the IT organization
  • Develop and enhance PM tools, artifacts and documentation
  • Evaluate delivery models and methodology, develop and implement continuous change for improvement
  • Standardize and enhance core project delivery templates and services
  • Recommend and assist with architecting tools that automate repetitive tasks
  • Collaborate with IT teams soliciting feedback and input for continuous improvements
  • Provide support to CIO for budgets, presentation preparations and organizing support
  • Develop strong working relationships with the business and technology teams to ensure overall program success

Resource Management

  • Manage, guide and mentor PM resources
  • Work with Portfolio Capacity Planning to improve resource forecasting

Methodology, Governance and Compliance

  • Administer the organization’s standard program and project management processes
  • Set the direction for the organization’s project governance and leadership structure
  • Influence and implement methodology changes from a program management perspective

Process Improvement and Standards Development

  • Ensure project retrospectives are conducted and improvement opportunities are identified, communicated, and implemented where possible.
  • Define and implement KPIs for PMO delivery performance
  • Conduct quarterly PMO performance reviews with IT Leadership with a focus on organizational improvement opportunities based on data
  • Implement governance for project delivery quality
  • Facilitate, manage and moderate PM Forums including the sharing of best practices, resources and tools

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of enterprise program or project management experience
  • 2 years of enterprise PMO management experience
  • Experience managing initiatives involving design and implementation of strategic IT Saas and in-house applications
  • Extensive experience managing contract negotiations and third party vendors
  • Deep understanding of developing and tracking technology budgets, inclusive of capital and operating expense and depreciation
  • Experience developing and / or managing organizational change activities related to large initiatives
  • Experience with due diligence and program management of mergers and acquisitions
  • Self-motivated, energetic, excellent interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present information, status, and issues in a clear and concise manner at all levels of the organization, especially C-level executives
  • Able to understand and be involved in the technical details in order to successfully gather and understand complex requirements and drive projects to completion
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic analytical skills, you solve the immediate issue with an eye to the big picture
  • High degree of flexibility, independence, initiative, and detail orientation
  • Strong ability to collaborate on solutions and deliver expected outcomes in a matrix managed environment
  • A solver of unstructured problems. You are very comfortable operating independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
  • Ability to take a high-level business goal and turn it into an actionable strategic plan, or break down a complex process into simple steps that can be easily executed by team members

  • Reliability and integrity. You deliver on your commitments and go the extra mile to support all of your colleagues, even if they don’t report directly to you
  • Bring knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologies, processes and tools, including scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, resource management, procurement, change management, risks management, issues management
  • B.S. in Business or Engineering discipline preferred
  • PMP, Prince2 and / or Scrum master certification a plus
