Your day as a Network Engineer

As a Network Engineer at Mercantile Bank, you will spearhead the design, implementation, management, and troubleshooting of our network and storage systems.

Your expertise in SD-WAN technologies, Cisco Firewalls, Meraki wireless solutions, switch configurations, and SAN solutions such as NetApp will be crucial in ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity.

Responsibilities include overseeing the network infrastructure, monitoring performance, managing internet circuits, and implementing network security protocols.

You will also deploy SD-WAN solutions, configure Cisco Firewalls, oversee Meraki wireless networks, and manage cloud networking solutions in AWS and Azure.

Additionally, you will provide technical support for bank applications, collaborate with Information Security Admins, and serve as a primary technical contact for IT projects, making this role both challenging and rewarding.

This position is located in Wyoming, MI.

What you need to be successful

To excel in the role of Network Engineer at Mercantile Bank, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of experience in IT.

Essential skills include proficiency in Windows server operating systems, VMWare, backup systems, storage area networks, server hardware, basic Linux, and Cisco networking devices.

Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, network security, and storage technologies.

Experience in managing large-scale network and storage deployments, as well as troubleshooting complex issues, is preferred.

Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco Firewalls, Meraki wireless solutions, and SAN storage systems is essential.

Knowledge of cloud network infrastructure and security in Azure, AWS, or other cloud environments is also crucial.

Additionally, candidates should be adept at using network and storage monitoring tools, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and ideally hold certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA, or Network+.
