Responsibilities
The comprehensive epilepsy program at the University of Soulh Alabama provides care for patients with epilepsy. This includes continues video EEG monitoring in our epilepsy units and advance pharmacological and electrical stimulation management and epilepsy surgery.
The adult program has been robust and performs multiple epilepsy surgeries per month. The need for epilepsy care is even more pronounced in children and a successful epilepsy surgery program has been launched al USA Children's and Women's Hospital.
However the ability to provide sufficient volume of care is limited by lack of physicians to dedicate to the pediatric epilepsy program.
The current proposed position is to seek an individual who will devote the majority of their clinical time to developing and maintaining an active pediatric epilepsy program.
This will help address a serious need in the Gulf region.
