Job Summary :
The Non-QM Subservicing Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Non-Qualified Mortgage (Non-QM) subservicing portfolio.
This role ensures that all aspects of loan subservicing comply with company policies, industry regulations, and investor guidelines.
The manager will lead a team, collaborate with external subservicers, and work closely with other departments to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
Portfolio Management :
- Oversee the Non-QM loan subservicing portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments, escrow management, and customer service.
- Monitor subservicer performance and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and investor requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of subservicers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Analyze portfolio trends, identify risks, and implement strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Knowledgeable about national lending laws, collecting on payments and foreclosure laws(that will be outsourced), and disposal of REOs.
Team Leadership :
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of subservicing professionals, providing guidance on best practices, performance management, and career development.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Compliance and Risk Management :
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including RESPA, TILA, and CFPB guidelines.
- Stay current with industry changes, regulatory updates, and best practices in Non-QM servicing.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to address any regulatory changes or findings from internal / external audits.
Vendor Management :
- Manage relationships with third-party subservicers, ensuring they meet performance and compliance expectations.
- Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements with subservicers, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
- Review and approve subservicer invoices and payments.
Process Improvement :
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the subservicing function.
- Implement new technologies and tools to enhance servicing operations and customer experience.
- Develop and update policies and procedures to reflect current best practices.
Reporting and Analytics :
- Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, delinquencies, loss mitigation efforts, and other key metrics.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Customer Service :
- Ensure that customer inquiries and issues are resolved promptly and effectively by the subservicing team.
- Develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction and reduce complaints.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Extensive knowledge of Non-QM loan products, servicing regulations, and investor guidelines.
- Proven experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in mortgage servicing software and MS Office Suite.
Compensation :
- Competitive salary $90-130,000 plus bonus based on experience
