Internship Program Overview : Our 2025 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-12-week internship program, scheduled to begin on June 2, 2025.

Interns are expected to work full-time throughout the summer.

Summer interns will join an intern class consisting of undergraduate and graduate students to work on exciting projects in one of EDC's many dynamic departments.

Summer Interns will also participate in training programs, networking events, and other professional development opportunities over the course of the program.

Our Summer 2025 Internship Program application deadline is Monday, December 2. All materials must be submitted by EOD that date incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Department Overview : The Grants Department supports NYCEDC's mission by pursuing and managing local, state, and federal grants for a broad array of economic development initiatives.

Grants coordinates with funders, city agencies and internal project teams to ensure appropriate oversight of all grants, including legal and fiscal compliance, financial management, reporting, and reimbursement.

The NYCEDC grants portfolio includes over 50 infrastructure and economic development projects. The Grants Department currently manages 90 active federal, state, and local grants exceeding $3 billion.

Intern Responsibilities :

  • Assist with preparing, organizing and maintaining critical Grants Department documents in our SharePoint database and responding to inquiries.
  • Assist with updating Grants data and building out our Grants Management System.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Preferred field(s) of study : Public Policy and Law, Legal Studies, Urban Policy and / or Finance.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM and complete the entirety of the 10-week program

Salary Target : $19.00 / hour (undergraduate-level students); $24.00 / hour (graduate-level students)
