Location : Fort Worth, TX

Position Summary :

Serves as a leadership position for the organization, such as a Group Manager, or as a water-sector recognized engineering or technical expert for the district.

Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields, with specialized knowledge in water transmission hydraulics and operations.

Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments.

Works on a major project or several projects of moderate to complex scope with complex features.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Serves as a technical specialist for TRWD in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in water transmission hydraulics, operations, modeling, and other broad engineering fields
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
  • Develops new techniques and / or improved processes, materials, or products
  • Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
  • Can supervise a staff of engineers, technical specialists and technicians comprising an engineering team
  • Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
  • Prepares proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs
  • Capable of performing essential functions and responsibilities of lower level Engineering positions, or successfully assisting with, leading and / or directing others to do so
  • Provides direction to Engineering staff in the absence of the Engineering Director on an as needed basis
  • Identify training budget needs

  • Perform other duties as required

Required Experience :

  • Eight plus (8+) years of experience in engineering
  • Experience in water transmission hydraulic analysis, opterations, and modeling

Desired Experience :

  • InfoWater modeling
  • Experience supervising a staff of engineers, technical specialists, and technicians comprising an engineering team

Required Education / Certification / License :

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in an applicable engineering discipline from an ABET / EAC accredited program
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer by the State of Texas, or ability to acquire said license within six months if already licensed in another state
  • Valid Texas driver’s license

Desired Education / Certification / License :

Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) or Master of Science (M.S.) in an applicable engineering discipline
