Job Title : Staff Accountant

Job Location : Chesterfield MO (Hybrid)

Job Type : Contract (6 months)

Primary Duties :

• Process statements and handle numerous journalentries related to mortgage loans.
• Performreconciliations and ensure a strong understanding of debits andcredits.
• Participate in Septembers monthendclose with the team then manage the next closeindependently.

Position Summary :

The role involves processing data managing accountingsystems conducting analysis and performing reconciliations relatedto investment accounting across various asset classes.

Theaccountant will also handle special projects as required.

Responsibilities :

• Carry out accounting functions and preparemonthend quarterend and annual analyses for designatedareas.
• Identify and resolve issues navigatelarge data sets to detect errors and gather financialinformation.
• Accurately summarize issuesassess risks propose recommendations and implement approvedchanges.
• Perform testing related to system andprocess improvements.
• Collaborate with otherfunctional areas to optimize accounting and reporting practices andaddress inquiries from various departments.

Requirements : Education :

Education :

• Required : Bachelors Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent workexperience with 5 years of accounting or auditingexperience.
• Preferred : Masters DegreeCPA progress towards FLMI public accounting investment accountingand experience with Statutory or GAAP accounting especially ininsurance / reinsurance financial reporting.

• Advanced Excel skills and solid knowledge ofStatutory and GAAP accounting.
• Ability toproduce results adapt to new methods and work under tightdeadlines.
• Strong investigative analytical andproblemsolving skills.
• Flexibility initiativeaccountability and the ability to manage multiple tasks prioritiesand projects simultaneously.
• Teamcollaboration good communication skills and the ability totranslate business needs into solutions.

Preferred :

Experience with data analytics and tools likeTableau and basic SQL / Query skills.
