SUPERVISOR : Director of Human Resources

SUMMARY : The Human Resources Generalist supports the operations of the Human Resources (HR) department in various areas.
This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment, screening and interviewing applicants, orientation and onboarding, internal and external HR service requests, data entry, event planning and support, and other administrative tasks as requested by the supervisor.
The position reports to the Director of HR.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Talent Acquisition
- Responsible for sourcing and recruiting applicants by finding and expanding new sources of applicants and strengthening Esperanza’s networks locally and nationally.
- Responsible for recruiting at job fairs, trade schools, colleges, churches, Christian organizations, etc.
- Responsible for all aspects of the recruiting cycle for open positions assigned by the HR Director, including working with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, schedule and conduct interviews and other aspects of the cycle through the offer letter.
- Compliance
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Onboarding and Orientation
- Responsible for coordinating and conducting all aspects of onboarding (with Benefits Coordinator) and bimonthly new hire orientation.
- Payroll Processing, in collaboration with Finance department staff
- Responsible for assisting with processing payroll in ADP. Tasks include adding new hires into ADP, creating change forms, and reviewing payroll for accuracy.
- Responsible for distribution of manual checks, payroll forms and notices, tax documents, salary change letters, etc.
- Responsible for assisting with payroll-related reporting, downloading payroll documents for each payroll, and other maintenance tasks related to payroll.
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service to managers and all employees for payroll and accrual questions, resolving issues, making adjustments and corrections, etc.
- Event Planning and Project Coordination
- Responsible for completing supportive tasks at retreats, all staff training, staff appreciation events, etc., in collaboration with the HR team, managers, and employees.
- Responsible for assisting in coordinating and tracking all staff training compliance.
- Administrative Support
- Responsible for responding to internal and external HR service requests.
- Responsible for preparing employee communications, surveys, etc.
- Responsible for data entry, personnel file maintenance, tracking tardy reports, low-level disciplines and leave requests, and other tasks.
- Responsible for tracking and updating credentialing for all non-provider staff.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave;
- disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale;
occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 2-3 years working within an HR department.
- 2-3 years’ experience with ADP or other HRIS or ability to learn.
- Excellent skills using Google Suite and Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in internal and external interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high accuracy in data entry, database maintenance, composing written communications, proofreading, etc.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and cultural competency.
- Experience recruiting, screening, and interviewing individuals.
- Experience planning and implementing training events and retreats.
- Experience working in a team environment; willingness to take on a variety of tasks in support of the team.
- Experience working on several projects simultaneously and managing deadlines successfully.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
- Ability to integrate faith in the workplace and in all interactions with employees and external constituencies; desire and ability to share Christ with others.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to sit / stand at a desk for long periods.
- Must read fine print on paper, computer, and databases.
- Must be willing to travel among all EHC sites.
- Must lift 20 lbs., climb stairs, drive or travel to other EHC sites, and walk to and from parking lots.
