Operational Team Member Role (100% Restaurant)

Description :

The Front of House Team Member is the center of the service we provide at Chick-fil-A. They are the smiling face that greets a guest, the hands that ensure all meals are packaged and delivered correctly, the warm tone saying My pleasure to a guest who has had a fantastic experience.

The Front of House Team Member balances genuine hospitality with a guest first mindset and an incredible level of care for fast and accurate service.

They are responsible for keeping the dining room, patio, restrooms and front counter clean, organized, and safe. They will be a proactive and positive part of the team who comes to work each day ready to show care and spread joy to those around them.

Hospitality :

  • Act on a guest first mentality, making guests feel welcome by making them your top priority
  • Keep guests informed and engaged with outstanding service

  • Maintain a friendly and enthusiastic tone to uphold expectations of customer service.
  • Ensure excellent customer service for catering orders by ensuring the guest has everything they need for their catering order including helping them to their vehicle

Fast & Accurate Service :

  • Have a knowledgeable understanding of official procedures and carry them out in a time efficient manner.
  • Accomplish tasks with a sense of urgency
  • Uphold speed of service times for dine in, carry out, and 3rd party orders that are in line with the stores current goals
  • Ensure that every order is being completed accurately so that our order accuracy score remains in line with stores current goals

Cleanliness :

  • Use and clean equipment according to procedure
  • Ensure that the environment is clean and well maintained for both guest appearance and team member safety.
  • Cleaning tasks include : dusting, scrubbing, mopping, wiping down, organizing and additional deep cleaning tasks.
  • Be proactive in cleaning tasks and activities while keeping in mind that cleaning tasks can and should be paused to serve guests first.
  • Maintain clear and safe walkways, free of dirt, debris, or spills.
  • Ensure cleanliness and deep cleaning of restrooms. All team members should and will be expected to clean toilets.
  • Be an active participant in a culture of cleanliness and care
  • Cleaning areas include all interior spaces in the restaurant as well as the patio, exterior walls, trash containment areas, and nearby public areas such as sidewalks and bushes.

Cash Management :

  • Handle cash and credit transactions with guests, ensuring issuance of proper change and receipt at time of payment
  • Maintain a clean and organized till in accordance with the current restaurant procedures
  • Ensure use of bill verification machine or other fraud detection
  • Be aware of fraudulent behaviors and report suspicious activity
  • Understand the importance of financial literacy and stewardship as it impacts both your current role, as well as the well being and profitability of the company

Engage in a Positive Work Environment :

  • Be a positive influence on those around you by coming to work prepared to work with a good attitude
  • Help the continual improvement of the store by ensuring you and those around you are working according to procedure
  • Ensure that all guest facing interactions are performed in a positive manner including dealing with difficult or disgruntled guests
  • Show genuine care towards your co-workers, just as they are expected to show you the same level of respect and care.
  • Ensure healthy and positive communication, focused around work related activities, are taking place between yourself and your co-workers.

Physical Requirements :

  • Standing / Walking for the entire duration of shift
  • Kneeling, bending, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing step stool, but not limited to these.
  • Lifting objects up to 50lbs
  • Polite tone of voice and manners towards guests and co-workers
  • Positive facial expressions
  • Usage and reading of computers, tablets, screens.
  • Cleaning restrooms
  • Restrictions as to appearance including, hair color and style, nail color and style, makeup, but not limited to these, will be discussed in depth during interview / orientation.

Availability Requirements :

  • Team Members must be able either to open or close with their availability. Team members can be scheduled for mid shifts but availability is based around those who can either open or close the restaurant.
  • Team members must be available to work Friday and Saturday.
  • Team members must be available to work holidays, excluding Christmas and Thanksgiving.
