The client is seeking a Project Land Surveyor / Manager to join their collaborative team in Philadelphia, PA. This individual will play a crucial role in providing services that combine technical knowledge, practical experience, and professional judgment to resolve surveying, mapping, and geospatial challenges.
In this role, you will assist in leading the Survey team, working alongside others who share a passion for the intricate balance between the art and science of mapping.
Job Responsibilities :
- Assist discipline leadership with the planning, implementation, and production of deliverables for land surveying projects.
- Oversee and manage staff for specific project assignments, including supervising fieldwork.
- Coordinate with staff to prepare and / or modify fieldwork scope, survey data, data reduction, project plans and revisions, and final survey deliverables based on collected data analysis.
- Write and / or review drafting and CAD file production, draft survey maps, proposals, written descriptions, and miscellaneous reports.
- Assist in planning schedules, developing tasks and project budgets, preparing progress reports, and drafting change orders.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines, including preparing draft invoices, project billings, and assisting in payment collections.
- Utilize reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess project needs and contribute to project approaches.
- Assist with office tasks, including CAD drafting, data download, deed and map research, and filing.
- Collect field data for preparation of surveys using surveying equipment and software when necessary.
- Assist in the recovery of survey control and monumentation, construction layout, obtaining invert and subsurface utility information, and photo documentation of the project area as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications :
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of survey experience in both the field and office.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or Carlson software with excellent computer skills.
- State Survey license or the ability to obtain a State license.
- Experience with proposal preparation and job estimates.
- Ability to perform complex boundary analysis and maintain quality control of survey deliverables.
- Proven ability to manage multiple staff to meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team with various levels and types of management, staff, co-workers, and clients.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to the field as necessary.
- Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
