Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform some electrical, mechanical diagnostic, and repair of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipmentPerform various forms of equipment repair including drive chain components, automatic brake systems, etc.
through an intermediate level of experience and system knowledgeMaintain accurate parts inventory, research, resolve all discovered inventory discrepancies and notify maintenance management when a resolution is not availableMaintain a clean and safe work area and warehouse, perform other tasks as determined and requested by managementWork in the Maintenance software system to record data, ensure DOT compliance, and ensure follow up of return ordersServe as a mentor for Vehicle Technicians C, as needed;
may perform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesBasic welding and cutting torch operation skillsBasic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repair skillsUnderstanding of tire inflation systemsKnowledge and ability to mount and dismount tiresBasic diagnostic tool skillsAbility to schedule and prioritize daily tasksMust adhere to company uniform and appearance standardsProfessional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customersAbility to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions tools, equipment, machinery and, or materials used to power, hand, diagnostic tools operate material handling equipmentMust be capable of driving company equipment including class 8 tractors working conditionsMust be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to vary the start and finish times, possibly including weekends and holidaysBasic computer skillsEach technician needs to provide their own toolsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDKnowledge acquired through 3-5 years of work experiencePreferred Qualifications2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical schoolClass A CDL or Ability To Obtain within ninety (90) days of employmentA.
