EMS Director / EMS Manager

District Manager and Managing Supervisor Positions Available

AEMT or Paramedic

Ambulance Service is seeking managing supervisors for several of their locations throughout the Virginia area, including Salem VA, Newport News VA, and Richmond VA.

You must be an advanced EMT or Paramedic with a minimum of five (5) years in the field at that respected level.

Must have at least two (2) years of managerial and supervisory experience in private-sector EMS. If coming from a county or governmental facility, must have at least four (4) years of supervisory experience.

Must have experience in managing more than fifteen people during a work shift. You must be able to multi-task, make a schedule, and pre-plan schedule transports daily.

If you’re not currently licensed / certified in the Commonwealth of Virginia, you must be able to obtain certification before the start of the job.

The company is willing to co-share moving costs for those who may be looking to relocate to the Virginia area.

Job Description

  • Follows and stays up to date with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Operates Company vehicles in a safe manner, is familiar with operating emergency vehicles, and follows state traffic laws and regulatory requirements.

Maintains driving record on and off duty in accordance with Safety, Health & Environmental policy and procedures.

Performs documented daily vehicle inspections to ensure the ambulance is in a state of mechanical readiness; refills automotive fluids as necessary;

ensures that appropriate safety medical equipment and supplies are on board the vehicle.

  • Notifies immediate supervisor when vehicle deficiencies, equipment / supplies are missing or defective, or mechanical failure to ambulance vehicle has occurred.
  • Ensures the ambulance is cleaned inside and outside, medical equipment is restocked, and fuel is topped off at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment while transporting to and from medical appointments.
  • Ability to understand patient medical condition while in care. Communicates effectively with medical professionals when transferring patients to respective medical care providers.
  • Ability to communicate with dispatchers, facility staff members, and other responders via phone or radio regarding the status of patients, location, and estimated time of arrival throughout the workday.
  • Responds to emergencies efficiently and promptly. Administers basic first aid and medical support and assesses the nature and extent of injuries / illnesses.
  • Demonstrates a strong orientation towards teamwork and the ability to understand the importance of team-coordinated efforts.
  • Creates an environment of trust and caring, which allows workers to take responsibility to reduce or eliminate actions or behaviors under their control that contribute to injury and illness.
  • Attends meetings and serves on committees as requested.

Job Types : Full-time, Part-time

Pay : $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
