Responsibilities
The Central Branch YMCA seeks an enthusiastic and attentive part-time Wellness Assistant to join our team to create a welcoming atmosphere that leaves a memorable impression on new and current members.
- Connect : Strong human relations skills and ability to communicate with participants and program staff.
- Support : Provide a level of service by connecting with members and their wellness goals, ensuring the safety of members using the facilities, and the ability to respond to emergency situations.
- Motivate : Orient members with the fitness equipment to ensure a safe and positive environment for the participants to succeed in their wellness goals.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as :
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Have at least 2 years of high school education, the equivalent, or be currently enrolled.
- Experience and / or certification from a national organization is preferred.
- Previous fitness experience with basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology is preferred.
- Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary : Part-time $11.50-$12.00 hourly
Hours Available : Mondays and Fridays 6 : 00 a.m. - 11 : 00 a.m., weekends as needed
