JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Entertainment is re-entering the international distribution business. FOX Entertainment Global is responsible for overseeing the global, multi-platform sales and distribution of intellectual property, owned and produced by FOX Entertainment and its growing portfolio of business units including Fox Alternative Entertainment, MarVista Entertainment, Fox Entertainment Studios, TMZ, Tubi, Bentobox and Studio Ramsay Global as well as, premium content acquired from outside producers.

Fox Entertainment Global is looking for a Manager, Accounting to help manage the day-to-day accounting function. The Manager, Accounting is responsible for supporting the department head in managing the accounting and finance operations for Fox Entertainment Global and Marvista.

This position will manage the timely monthly close of the General Ledger and perform the general ledger accounting. Additionally, this position provides managerial support for daily activities performed by the accounting team.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and perform the month-end financial close and financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure accounts reconciliations are performed in a timely manner.
  • Direct the daily activities of the accounting team members, monitor deadlines, and provide hands-on support and coaching.
  • Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for revenue, AR, deferred revenue, and other areas as assigned, ensuring there is proper supporting documentation.
  • Manage consolidation of company entities including eliminations and recording of investment in joint ventures.
  • Research applicable accounting guidance to document and conclude on proper accounting treatment of unique contracts and business transactions.
  • Understand and perform the general ledger accounting for Revenue Recognition and Film Accounting.
  • Interact effectively with Financial Planning & Analysis, Production Finance, and other Company departments to support timely and efficient record keeping while supporting the financial needs of the organization.
  • Support compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes and regulations.
  • Support compliance with internal controls with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Manage the coordination of audit and the gathering of required audit information.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of public or private accounting experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a supervisor or leading teams.
  • Strong technical accounting skills; knowledge of accounting theory and practices, of US GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • CPA.
  • Experience with a public accounting firm (Big 4 background is a plus).
  • Experience with Workday, Coupa, Anaplan, and Rightsline.
  • Experience with ASC 926 Film accounting & ASC 606 new revenue recognition.
  • Experience consolidating multiple entries.
  • Knowledge of studio environment.
  • Understanding and experience in dealing with foreign currencies and accounting thereof.

  • Experience in accounting and ability to apply US GAAP knowledge to general ledger accounting.

  • Effective communication skills as an integral team player in the organization.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office and accounting software (Workday).
  • Film industry experience including revenue recognition and film amortization policies applicable to the production / distribution environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Listens effectively, transmits information accurately and understandably, and actively seeks feedback.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors, and others.
