The Vice President of Administration will assist with the vision, direction, and leadership by serving and reporting directly to the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) President, while working closely with the Vice President of Operations.

The VP of Administration will engage in collaborative initiatives with Chancellors and LCTCS Executive Staff in achieving the goals, objectives, and mission of each of the respective institutions aligned with the LCTCS at large.

This position is responsible for leadership in the assessment and management of administrative procedures, processes, systems, structures, and strategies with the objective of achieving optimal efficiency, effectiveness, and impact.

The VP of Administration will serve as a liaison between Chancellors and LCTCS Executive Staff with a persistent focus of embedding behaviors and actions that unite and institute a positive culture resulting in a sustainable, repeatable, and deliberate approach to growth and excellence.

This position reports to the LCTCS President.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to :

  • Lead the vision of the LCTCS Board of Supervisors and LCTCS President in creating an efficient and effective system promoting and advocating the unique value of higher educational opportunities afforded by the LCTCS.
  • Maintain working professional relationships with all Chancellors to foster collaboration and innovative partnerships within and amongst colleges to expand and innovate administrative efficiencies.
  • Assess and create a cohesive environment between Chancellors and LCTCS Executive Staff conducive to supporting and serving all LCTCS colleges on all matters of administrative support.
  • Ensure compliance with all LCTCS administrative directives and objectives.
  • Evaluate administrative and business models for efficiency and make recommendations that improves system stability and success.
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Operations to ensure fiduciary effectiveness and streamline administrative efficiencies at the institutional, regional, and state levels where appropriate and impactful.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to review all system wide departments to ensure continuity of administration processes at the LCTCS.
  • Analyze and identify state, regional, and institutional initiatives that best serve the LCTCS and each of its respective colleges.
  • Stay up to date on the impact of federal legislative initiatives upon institutional administrative functions and facilities.
  • Assist with oversight of all facilities activities.
  • Assist with oversight of human resource administration for all employee related matters, both for unclassified and classified staff regardless of position
  • Assist with oversight of the development and review of policies and practices regarding facilities, human resources, risk management, and other administrative functional areas.
  • Assist with oversight of all legal matters involving the LCTCS to include but not limited to, all lawsuits and pending litigation, legal opinions and any other matters involving LCTCS legal representation.
  • Serve as liaison to the LCTCS Board of Supervisors on behalf of the LCTCS President when directed.
  • Represent the LCTCS and colleges as directed by the LCTCS President.
  • Provide consultation and support to assist colleges in achieving administrative efficiencies.
  • Advocate efforts and represent the state at regional, state, national and international levels as directed by the LCTCS President.
  • Other matters as assigned by the LCTCS President.

Required Education :

Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Required Experience :

  • Served at an executive level for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Prior successful experience leading, supervising, and mentoring professional managers.
  • Significant high level administrative experience, including knowledge of postsecondary educational institutions and state government.
  • Experience and understanding of the missions of the community and technical colleges.
  • Demonstrated success in executing and scaling institutional and system-level initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in strategically guiding and managing a group of people to achieve a common goal.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities in analysis and assessment of administrative activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in analyzing organizational efficiencies, culture change, and executing strategic initiatives.

  • Skilled decision-maker, with transparency in decision making and management.

  • Leadership ability and commitment to the LCTCS mission and charge to the LCTCS Board of Supervisors.
