SESAC is looking for an Associate Director of Media Licensing to join our team in Nashville. In this position, you will support Media Licensing strategic goals and initiatives by assisting with business and legal aspects of the Media Licensing Department throughout all stages of licensing transactions, including information gathering, negotiation, and post-signature contract management.

What You Will Be Doing :

  • Negotiating high value license agreements in collaboration with department leadership to ensure terms align with licensing objectives.
  • Helping to develop licensing policies and approaches for new and evolving content distribution modalities.
  • Independently and successfully managing licensing negotiations with assigned high volume media accounts and content delivery platforms.
  • Researching and identifying new opportunities for the Media Licensing Department to address growing market segments.
  • Making initial contact and establishing relationships with potential licensees or their representatives, at the direction of department leadership.
  • Other projects as assigned.

What Makes You Qualified :

  • J.D. and / or license to practice Law is preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital content distribution applications.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. Copyright Law and relevant common law.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage complex transactional negotiations.
  • Proficient in time management, prioritization, and an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Able to work both independently and on a team to meet objectives / priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Comfortable working with and learning new systems / technology.
  • Drafting skills.
