JOB SUMMARY :
The Service advisor's role is to assist in the effort to manage and maintain the efficiency, professionalism, and profitability of the service department.
Also responsible for general clerical and administrative duties within the Service Department. Answer incoming calls to the Service Department and directs them to the appropriate colleague.
Set up appointments for service customers. Translate customer-reported problems to actionable work orders for technicians to complete.
Consulting with technicians about needed repairs and alternatives that can be offered.
Informing customers about potential cost savings and warranty protections.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product warranty coverage and be capable of informing customers of applicable coverage.
Informing customers of service changes or when their equipment is ready to be picked up.
Check OEM databases for any applicable campaigns, updates, or upgrades on all incoming trucks.
Assemble quotes when requested by customers.
Review repair order invoices with the customer
Initiate proper paper flow for all service documentation.
Inform the Service Foreman of potential problem areas and / or customer concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
High School - College Preferred
Three years of experience, working knowledge, and experience in industry products, repairs, and parts. Good organizational and communication skills are required.
Proven experience working closely with internal and external customers. Proficient computer skills.
Must have the ability to communicate with truck technicians, customers, and management.
Must have strong sales and customer service skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods;
- to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight;
to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
