RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of student athletes for meaningful athletic competition through instruction in the fundamental skills, strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual / team success and at the same time, receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of good citizenship, pride of accomplishment, good sportsmanship, self-discipline and self-confidence.
QUALIFICATIONS : Coaching experience at middle / high school level preferred. Possess a current First Aid Card / CPR Card or complete a district approved athletic training / sports medicine course equivalent to the Red Cross first aid training or be enrolled in that type of class.
A Washington State Patrol Criminal History Information Form, required by RCW 43.43.830, be on file in the Athletic Office.
High school graduate and at least 19 years of age. SPI Moral Character Supplement Form 4020b completed and on file. Annually attend a blood-borne pathogens training.
Annually attend a WIAA approved rules clinic for the sport being coached. Certificated personnel preferred.
SCHEDULE : OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
UNION AFFILIATION : This position is represented by the Co-Curricular Employees Association.
BENEFITS : This position does not qualify for health insurance or paid leave benefits.
Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement : The recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of employment eligibility prior to working.
Disclosure Statement and Record Check : Pursuant to Chapter 486, Washington Laws of 1987, the recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he or she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law.
In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
