The Assistant Dean of Students at the College of Southern Idaho is a key leadership role responsible for positive student experiences across Student Affairs.
The Assistant Dean will play a key leadership role in helping run the office of the Dean of Students, manage student conduct, and be a collaborative thinking partner.
The Assistant Dean of Students upholds expectations for conduct and citizenship through conflict resolution, investigating and adjudicating lower-level disciplinary issues, and on-call crisis management in consultation with the Dean of Students.

Key Responsibilities :
- Student Focus and Success : Bring a clear student focus and unwavering commitment to student success. Help champion this focus across our teams, services, programs, activities, college, and community.
- Leadership and Development : Help lead and develop team members who oversee Student Activities, Student Recreation, and the Challenge Course.
Provide guidance to other Student Affairs departments as needed.
Student Mentorship : Serve as a mentor and guide for students, assisting them in their leadership journey and personal development.
Encourage and support students in their pursuit of leadership roles on campus. Advisor to the Eagle Leads Council and assist other councils occasionally.
Student Conduct and Support : Serve as an additional line of support for student conduct and incidents. Serve as a liaison between students and others.
Maintain discretion and confidentiality. Utilize Maxient software to track and manage student conduct cases and incident reports.
- Student Affairs Office : Assist in the oversight of office duties, training work studies, student leaders, identify and resolve issues related to office operations, facilities, or staff.
- Crisis Management : Act as a resource during campus emergencies or crises, working closely with the college's emergency response team and providing support to affected students.
- Title IX Compliance : In conjunction with the CARE team, ensure compliance with Title IX regulations and oversee the college's efforts to prevent and address gender-based discrimination and harassment.
- Training and Education : Provide training and education to students, faculty, and staff on topics related to student conduct, Title IX, and campus safety.
- Planning and Attending Student Activities : Organize, plan, and attend student activities and events that promote campus engagement, school spirit, and a sense of community.
This may include some nights and weekends to accommodate student schedules and ensure the success of these activities.
Representation and Partnerships : Help positively represent Student Affairs across the campus and community. Help promote our services to current and future students.

- Student Retention, Assessment, and Data Analysis : Collecting and analyzing data related to student retention and satisfaction and outcomes to inform decision-making and assessing the effectiveness of student support programs and services.
- Policy Development and Implementation : Participating in the development, review, and implementation of institutional policies and procedures related to student affairs, including those pertaining to student conduct, risk management, and student rights and responsibilities.
- Nights and Weekends Availability : Be available for on-call duty during nights and weekends to respond to urgent student needs or campus incidents.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in educational leadership, student affairs, counseling, or a related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, strategy, design, learning, and project management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
- Exceptional discretion and the ability to handle confidential and crisis matters.
- Dedication to an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Availability to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Experience supervising staff, providing training and mentoring.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
