We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Junior Accountant in the Marketing / PR industry, based in New York, New York.

As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks such as accounts payable and receivable procedures, month-end closing tasks, and preparation of necessary operational reports.

Responsibilities

• Execute accounts payable procedures, including the recording and coding of vendor invoices.
• Review and process expense reimbursement requests and monthly credit card expenses.
• Manage the onboarding process for new vendors, ensuring all necessary documentation is in place.
• Contribute to the weekly accounts payable payment process through the generation of reports.
• Conduct accounts receivable procedures, coordinating with account teams on billing schedules.
• Record daily client cash receipts and ensure timely billing processes.
• Assist in managing client data on the portal.
• Contribute to month-end closing tasks, including preparing schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Prepare and issue year-end financial documents.
• Compile, verify, and analyze financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Provide assistance with various additional tasks within the finance team as required.
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience in Account Coding and Accounting Entries
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Knowledge of Accounting Functions, including Account Analysis and Account Reconciliation
• Familiarity with ERP Solutions such as Dynamics NAV
• Ability to handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Coding Invoices
• Experience in using Adobe Acrobat for document management
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with various departments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative
• High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
