We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Life Skills Instructor to support an individual with disabilities in achieving their SMART goals and fostering greater independence.
This role focuses on providing practical, hands-on assistance with essential life skills, designed to improve day-to-day living and personal growth.
Position Details
- Hours : 15 hours per month
- Compensation : Hourly rate with paid mileage for any work-related travel.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with the individual to support personalized SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) focused on independence and skill development.
- Assist with a variety of daily living skills, including money management, time management, personal care, social interaction, and community integration.
- Monitor progress, adapt methods as needed, and encourage the individual to actively participate in the learning process.
- Collaborate with the support team to track progress and ensure goal alignment.
Qualifications
- Experience in special education, disability services, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of SMART goal-setting techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, positive attitude.
- Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).
