Te whiwhinga mahi The Opportunity

The primary focus of the role is to determine and standardise the optimal asset care policies to deliver high reliability asset functionality, and extended asset life and identify opportunities for national standardisation in maintenance delivery, contracting and utility service provision.

In addition, direct and regulate the national engineering and product performance requirements which incorporate the principles of environmental sustainability and energy management.

Note : Preference will be given to internal Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora candidates.

Mōu About you

In this role you will demonstrate your knowledge, technical expertise, and experience through successful management of large, complex maintenance operations including engineering and maintenance standards, maintenance methodologies and contracting models and the interface with asset management planning.

You will work with Regional Maintenance Leads and undertake a current state assessment of maintenance delivery models to inform the development of a roadmap to deliver on the objectives outlined in the National Maintenance Strategy.

Success in this role will see you bring a good mix of specialist skills and experience not limited to :

  • Engineering Degree or similar qualification in maintenance engineering and / or planning
  • 10+ years skills and experience, including Senior Leadership experience within a similar role
  • Technical expertise in engineering
  • In depth experience, knowledge and understanding of maintenance functions
  • Demonstrate technical expertise and experience through successful management of large, complex maintenance operations including engineering and maintenance standards, maintenance methodologies and contracting models and the interface with asset management planning
  • Highly motivated and visible leader who can demonstrate leadership with experience in managing diverse functions and teams, preferably with teams spread across wide geographical boundaries and managing a wide range of stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
  • Demonstrate an understanding of organisational risk and compliance, legal and regulatory requirements regarding relevant regulations and standards in New Zealand, to ensure compliance with these requirements
