Purchasing - Receiving Clerk
Summary :
The purchasing-receiving clerk will be responsible for ordering, tracking and receiving items needed for the site. The position will work directly with vendors to improve efficiency and performance.
Responsibilities Include :
- Ordering, tracking and receiving items needed for the site
- Basic use of common software, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Work in SAP
- Reconciliation of reports, track orders, and provide updates as needed
- Report required data in a timely manner
- Attend all required training, and complete individual electronic training assignments
- Adhere to all site and Momentive protocols and procedures
- Perform other duties, as assigned
- May be asked to assist site personnel on special projects
- This position reports to the Site leader directly, but will work with departments across the site.
Qualifications :
The following are required for the role
- High School Diploma
- 6-12 months of purchasing / receiving experience
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to prioritize workload
- Must be able to effectively communicate with fellow employees, immediate supervisors and vendors
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, laboratory procedures, and manuals.
Preferred Experience / Education
- Associates degree in a related field
- At least six months of purchasing / receiving experience
Communication Skills
- Extensive Reading (50% or more of work time spent reading)
- Extensive Computer Usage (50% or more of work time spent viewing a VGA monitor)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, laboratory procedures and manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to receive detailed written, telephone or verbal instructions
- Ability to solve practical problems and address employee and customer complaints effectively
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp and move about the facility.
Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and the ability to balance are required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required.
Occasional lifting and moving up to 25 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions / locations).
The environment for this position includes working near moving mechanical parts, highly technical equipment and possible exposure to chemicals.

What We Offer :
Base Pay Range : $24 - $36
The base salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography.
