SUMMARY :
The Psychiatrist manages mental health care and provides appropriate treatment services to diagnose and assist children with mental illness with Gracepoint Children Emergency Crisis Stabilization Services.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Possess a current Florida Medical License and is certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Satisfactorily completed resident training of four (4) years in general psychiatry at a recognized graduate medical institution and has a valid DEA License.
- Must have satisfactorily completed fellowship training of two (2) years in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or have five (5) years of experience treating Child and Adolescent patients.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Perform diagnostic evaluation on children with mental health disorders, make diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Evaluate patients and comply with all the requirements within 24 hours of the request.
- Completes required documentation for all clinical services provided and maintains up-to-date clinical records per timelines required of Gracepoint and area hospitals.
Uses the electronic medical record and electronic prescribing program approved by the agency.
- Coordinates the delivery of clinical treatment services with other clinicians and support services staff. Provides consultations and referrals to other clinical staff, outside providers, and other agencies as necessary.
- Works with clinical support team including psychiatric residents in training, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), nurses, social workers, therapists, technicians, and others.
- Works with and provides guidance and teaching to residents from our affiliated graduate medical education program.
- Continue professional development through in-service education, workshops, conferences, and self-study necessary to maintain current knowledge applicable to the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Psychiatric Medical Director, Clinical Officer, and Director of Children’s Services.
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
- Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency, and department.
- Completes administrative functions and data entry timely and accurate.

- Provides exceptional customer service in all communications and interactions with staff, the general public.
- Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stress.
- Assists staff with support in all areas of functional responsibility in a courteous, supportive manner.

- Effective, efficient use of agency resources, systems, equipment, and processes.
- Continuous focus on cost savings initiatives across the responsibilities and deliverables.
- Effective use of time management to avoid overtime and budgetary issues.
