Lead Technical Service Engineer - Department of PQE (Product Quality Engineering) in CMPT
DuPont E&I, Semiconductor Technologies business, has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Technical Service Engineer in the Chemical Mechanical Planarization Technology (CMPT) organization.
This Engineer role within the Chemical Mechanical Planarization Technology (CMPT) organization is being opened up to address business growth and customer satisfaction opportunities and will report to the Product Quality Engineering Leader in Newark.
In this fast paced and highly visible role, you will interface with regional top tier customers on a global basis as well as interface with global internal teams including R&D, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering Technology, Sales and Marketing.
Selected candidate will also help coaching the engineers in the organization by defining priorities and equilibrating workload as requested, and customer communication as quality representative for specific projects.
Expectations for this role include strong business and financial acumen, ability to influence without direct command, strategic alignment skills and ability to smoothly interface with executive and working levels across the company and externally.
Responsibilities :
Primary responsibility of this role is to provide CMP business specific technical service in the region and act as representative of technical service manager for issues from customers.
Own and resolve complaints and requests from assigned customer(s) in region. Activities include managing root cause identification, acquiring and analyzing data, and developing solution options in collaboration with Global Product Quality Engineering(PQE), Manufacturing, Improvement Engineering, Raw Material Quality and Marketing as necessary.
Drafts and communicates complaint resolution progress to customers on a regular basis. Works to ensure key performance metrics (speed, quality) are met for issues / requests mentioned above.
Rapidly assess special customer requests and help implement after business prioritization.Identify and improve overall process of complaint and request handling for global CMPT as technical service expertise.
Manage customer notifications. Working with global PQE team, will help to write up letters / whitepapers in customer specific formats, as required.
Provides feedback from customer and works with global internal teams to insure implementation according to business plan.
Minimum qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or similar field.
- 5-10 years of experience in product quality, process engineering, manufacturing or related functions.
- Hands-on experience with statistical process control methods and design of experiments (i.e. 6-Sigma Green belt; JMP correlations study ).
- Experience on JMP / Minitab software (data analysis software).
- Hands-on experience with customer complaint / request (i.e. 8D, RCI, CAPA)
- Experience in external (customer or supplier) communication : ensuring external communications are aligned on common goals and understandings.
- Ability to make good engineering judgments independently and prioritization of multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate across cultures and language barriers clearly under high stress.
Preferred qualifications :
- Experience / Knowledge with semi-conductor industry.
- Experience in interpreting chemical / mechanical analysis result with SMEs and able to apply knowledge to support root cause investigation
- Advanced degree (Masters OR PhD) in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or similar field.
- Experience as a team leader OR as a 6 sigma project leader certified / trained (Green-belt)
- Demonstrated communication skills toward external senior stakeholders and to high level leaders and Familiar with technical report / technical updates.
- Experience in SQL database querying for data analysis.
