The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

As a Lead Data Scientist on the Data and Analytics Team, you will be responsible for helping our organization develop a top-tier data science capability.

You’ll use your experience and skill set of applying statistics, identifying algorithms, and using visualization techniques to :

• Define business challenges as data science problems
• Explore & visualize complex data sets
• Build models that help solve complex business problems and discover business insights

You’ll be integrated into all of the steps from idea generation / prioritization through execution and value realization.

What you will do :

• Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand the various opportunities
• Performs problem formulation, requirements analysis, and planning
• Performs large-scale experimentation and build data-driven models to answer business questions
• Develops predictive models using statistical techniques and machine learning
• Presents and communicates results back to the business to enable better decision making
• Provides support through the implementation of the new insights to ensure insights are meeting the needs of the business and creating the expected value
• Evangelizes best practices to analytics teams throughout the business
• Performs other duties as assigned

Leading candidates will have :

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field required
• Minimum Four (4) Years of experience with data mining, data science, predictive modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts
• Proven experience in conducting statistical analysis and building models with advanced scripting languages such as R, Python, SAS and other analytic tools
• Demonstrated familiarity with big data environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (GCP is preferred) and applying frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
• Experience building, identifying & measuring success criteria, and deploying predictive models
• Broad experience and solid theoretical foundation on the modeling processes using a variety of techniques
• Desire to seek and share new developments, technologies, tools and advancements in data science
• Considerable experience in solving business problems with advanced analytical solutions
